The
Work
A
love of colour and a fascination with the innate beauty
of gemstones, are the inspiration behind Laragh's work.
A
combination of silver beads, gold and other natural
found objects helps each piece to evolve in a unique
way.
Tiny
pearls entwined around nuggets of raw quartz and semi-precious
stones create a striking contrast.
Subtle
colour combinations and clusters of varied textures
of both rough and polished stones are what give depth
to the pieces.
Other
works are a vibrant concoction of contrasting colours
and natural forms, which are strong and dramatic.
Quirky
earrings with such things as tiny carved turquoise birds,
bells and pearls in un-identical pairs are part of the
designs that occur as individual pieces evolve.
Laragh
has attended workshops in London, the USA and the mid-Cornwall
School of Jewellery and was recently awarded second
place for work at the International London Jewellery
show for her piece entitled 'Something Blooming'. |
